Holding previous positions as Director of Federal Affairs for Fleischman and Walsh, LLP and ten years on Capital Hill as Legislative Assistant for Congressman Steny Hoyer (D‐MD), Andy’s years of experƟse have led him to his current role at McAllister and Quinn, LLC. His federal relations and grants consulƟng firm has 95 full‐time employees, 300 contractors, and over 200 clients in the spaces of advanced technology, higher education, and non‐profit organizations.
During his undergraduate career, Andy was an acƟve member of both Tau Kappa Epsilon and the University of Arizona Campus. Serving as Co‐Rush Chair and an OrientaƟon Leader for incoming students to the university, his pattern of involvement has stayed consistent even as an alumnus.
Andy is a proud mentor for the chapter’s alumni mentoring program, giving career advice to undergraduates and even hosƟng a frater at his firm last summer.
Andy gives two pieces of advice to any current or future undergraduates: “The first is to enjoy your time in college. It’s a very special time in your life– make the most of it. The second is to value ‘not wealth, rank, or honor, but personal worth and character.’ This is an important principle for TKE, and one I think we do not emphasize enough. After your exit college, you are going to have to find new mentors, friends, partners, and co‐workers. Make sure you surround yourself with people who want to see you succeed and will support you– people who have personal worth and character.”
